On August 2nd, the 31st Halifax Busker Festival will kick off, throwing the city into a throng of fire-breathing, funky looking, street performers. Coming on the tail of Rendez-Vous 2017 Tall Ships, Downtown Halifax will get another boost from throngs of tourists taking in the second international event in as many weeks.
On five stages over six days, Haligonians and tourists alike will be able to take in contortionists, soccer ball tricksters, and acrobats. What You Need to Know:
- The festival has is no admission fee though the performers will ask for tips after their performances. Buskers don’t receive payment from the festival, so they work on monetary support from the audience.
- Don’t bring your dog! With all the people, performers, and distractions, the possibility remains of them becoming scared or spooked. A pooch at home during the Busker Festival is a happy pooch.
